BALAOAN BAGS PABASA SA NUTRISYON EXEMPLARY AWARD

The Municipality of Balaoan, La Union was  conferred the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Exemplary Award in Cebu City on August 11, 2017  during the Region 7 Regional Nutrition Action Officers’ Congress and Grand Nutrition Awards. Ms. Ma. Cecilia Castillo, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, received said award

The Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Exemplary Award recognizes LGUs and organizations that have successfully implemented the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon (PSN) and received the PSN Outstanding Award for at least two (2) years. Balaoan has received the PSN Outstanding Award in 2014 and 2015.

This annual PSN award which was launched in 2003 recognizes the outstanding achievement of local government units and non-government organizations that have adopted the project in their communities. Pabasa sa Nutrisyon, is a nutrition education approach involving the sustained active participation of women and men in the barangay in the learning process, with the leadership and support of local government executives, program managers and local nutrition workers.

The PSN Exemplary Award is a proof of the unwavering commitment of the local government of Balaoan in improving the nutritional status of the children in the municipality.
