BALAOAN DONATES PROPERTY TO BOOST BFP CAPABILITY
In a move to modernize and make more effective the delivery of fire safety and preparedness in the community, the municipal government donated to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) a piece of its property formerly known as the Balaoan Children’s Park in Barangay Antonino paving the way for the construction of a new municipal fire station. With the donation of the lot, the Balaoan Fire Station finally hurdled its greatest obstacle in its programmed infrastructure works that will certainly get the construction rolling.
The formal inking of the lot donation was held at the Office of the Municipal Mayor on November 23, 2017 between Atty. Aleli U. Concepcion, Balaoan Municipal Mayor and Fire Senior Superintendent Lilibeth Q. Simangan paving the way for the construction of a new municipal fire station within a span of two (2) years from the signing of the instrument. According to the local fire station officials, the new structure will follow BFP designs and specifications according to prototypes that were already constructed by the Bureau all over the country.
“For years, the Balaoan Fire Station languished in that jampacked building beside the municipal building sharing offices with the Municipal Trial Court, the Public Attorney’s Office and the quarters of the local police so we scouted for a more spacious place to house their intended fire station that is more manageable to meet fire emergencies,” Mayor Aleli U. Concepcion said.
Earlier, the municipal government donated an air-conditioning unit and refurbished the office of the local fire station for the ease and comfort of the local fire personnel.
