With the new face of the Public Plaza, one can’t say no but to stay and spend a few moments to look at the picturesque view and take some snap shots of the place. The new landscape and greenery, the remodeled tree house and the installation of the I LOVE BALAOAN monument truly make the place inviting.
Sea Urchin Farm, located at BarangaysParaoir and Almeida is ten (10) kilometers away from the town proper (via Municipality of Luna). It is a project of Paraoir& Almeida Fisherfolks Associations in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Balaoan. Sea Urchin,Balaoan’s OTOP (One Town, One Product), is known to be an aphrodisiac, can be eaten raw or cooked and has health benefits when consumed in moderation.
The beaches of Barangays Paraoir and Almeida are considered as “must see” beaches in the Province of La Union. Almeida has been adjudged as the cleanest coastal area in the province for 2010. The beaches of Paraoir and Almeida are a good place for swimming, boating, fishing and picnics.
