In a recent Financial Literacy and Tax Awareness Campaign held at Castor Z. Concepcion Memorial National High School (CZCMNHS), Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David delivered an empowering message to the Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) Senior High School learners. Encouraging them to unlock their leadership potential, the governor emphasized that every individual has the ability to become a leader.
The Financial Literacy and Tax Awareness Campaign aims to inculcate a positive perspective on taxes to the public as well as to equip the participants with basic knowledge and skills to manage financial resources and effectively make better financial decisions to the senior high school learners.
The basics of local taxation and different online payment options particularly LBP’s Link.Biz Portal and Gcash, were discussed by the PTO staff. Ms. Dianne Orpilla, financial advisor and successful entrepreneur, was also invited to talk about Managing Financial Resources and effectively Making Better Financial Decisions.
Furthermore, the campaign took a step towards supporting academic excellence by distributing stipends to Grade 7 to Grade 10 Special Science High School learners of CZCMNHS. This initiative aimed to recognize and encourage their dedication and hard work in their studies.
Mayor Aleli U. Concepcion of Balaoan, La Union also graced the event and shared her knowledge on the relevance of local taxation to the participants.
With the newfound understanding of the importance of taxes and financial management, the learners are now better equipped to make informed financial decisions that will benefit both their personal lives and their community as a whole – all of these as they respond positively in PGLU’s call for La Union PROBINSYAnihan.
