Holcim Geocycle Project (June 22, 2023)
Members of the Municipal Solid Waste Management Board-Technical Working Group (MSWM-TWG) headed by Municipal Engineer, Renato Opeña, visit Holcim Philippines, Inc. (HPI) – Bulacan cement plant in Norzagaray, Bulacan on June 22, 2023 to witness the operation of the company’s Geocycle Project.
Geocycle is a total waste management solution using the Cement Kiln Co-processing Technology through thermal treatment technology by converting residual waste as alternative fuel for the production of cement. The plant is equipped with advanced Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) that ensures complete eradication of harmful waste substances while adhering to global environmental standards and is well within the limits set by Philippine Clean Air Act. HPI-La Union Plant located in Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union will be receiving our residual waste for their Geocycle project upon execution of a Memorandum of Agreement.
This is one of the strategies of the local government of Balaoan headed by Mayor Aleli Concepcion towards sustainable waste management.
