SGLG Regional Assessment | June 8, 2023

The local government of Balaoan headed by Mayor Aleli Concepcion participates in the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Assessment on June 8, 2023. The assessment comprised of document review and on-site validation. The SGLG is a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable local government performance which assesses the compliance of local governments in key governance areas, to wit:
1) Financial Administration and Sustainability;
2) Disaster Preparedness;
3) Social Protection and Sensitivity;
4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness;
5) Sustainable Education;
6) Business-friendliness and Competitiveness;
7) Safety, Peace and Order;
8)Environmental Management;
9) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and
10) Youth Development.
Balaoan’s Regional Assessment Team (RAT) is composed of OIC Project Manager Michelle Ann Ratuita and LGOO III Roma Andrea Bringas of DILG Ilocos Norte, and Chaplain Ruth Tamoria of DILG La Union. During the exit conference, the RAT discussed their findings and gave pointers on areas that Balaoan needs to work on. DILG Provincial Director Regie Colisao also joined the exit conference in the afternoon of even date and congratulated our local government for its support to DILG’s programs and assured Balaoan that DILG shall remain its active partner in promoting good governance.
